④ How this works · who runs it
Everything here comes from public Hyperliquid data — the public API and the public leaderboard. No private feeds, no identity mapping: wallet addresses only, plus display names where the wallet itself set one.
  • Market makers are removed. An account holding more than 8 coins at once trades like a market maker, not a directional bettor — it is classified as a churner and kept out of the signals.
  • Quick round-trips don't count. An OPEN becomes a confirmed signal only if the position is held at least 2 hours. Open-and-close-in-40-minutes noise is logged separately and never shown as a signal.
  • Spot hedges are flagged. A perp short offset by a spot long is cash-and-carry — a funding trade, not a bearish bet. Calling that "short" would mislead you, so it is labelled.
  • Leverage is size-weighted, and account value is shown as perp + spot separately, because positions are collateralised on the perp account only.
  • The cohort is refreshed daily. New smart money is auto-detected; accounts that go quiet are dropped. It is not a fixed list someone curated once.
